Former Top Gear presenters Richard Hammond, James May and of course Jeremy Clarkson have their new show The Grand Tour kicking off on Amazon Prime this Friday, so The One Show on BBC decided to have them in for a chat about it last night, with the notable absence of Jeremy Clarkson.
Given that he was essentially fired from the BBC, it wasn't too surprising. However, the way his absence was handled by the presenters was utterly bizarre as both Clarkson, and the fact that they all worked together on Top Gear, became some strange elephant in the room. There was so much dancing around the controversy that surrounded their departure from Top Gear that they may as well have just broken into a waltz
Clarkson was referred to "the other guy" and "he who shall not be named, while May described Top Gear as "the other show we were never on, and we never heard of".
It's oh so cringe, and we haven't even mentioned the cardboard car they made them walk out in yet...
Jeremy seemed to enjoy it, though...

I could have done The One Show but Richard and James really really wanted to do it on their own. They love the humour.

James and Richard are in their element. They love talking about pension scams.
