Mas and das throughout the county will be delighted with this news, as RTE have confirmed that The Million Euro Challenge has been axed and Winning Streak will remain in its rightful place this coming autumn.
From January until June of this year the spot was taken up by former Westlife star and 2fm DJ Nicky Byrne with his Million Euro Challenge game show, but it proved a bit of a flop with viewers finding it unnecessarily complicated at first, with the show receiving over 80 complaints after its first week.
That's not to take away from Nicky Byrne though, in fairness the Dublin presenter is about the only thing that made it watchable, so while it's bad news for him, no doubt he will get another gig with RTE soon enough. And sure his radio show is flying it - you can't have it all!
The long-running Winning Streak has been back on our screens since June with Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy at the helm once more, but the news now means they will be sticking around thoughout the autumn too.
