In a world inundated with versions of Superman, it's about time that Supergirl was given a bit more air time. CBS and Warner Bros have teamed up to make a TV show based on the iconic super heroine, with former Glee star Melissa Benoist in the lead.
Thankfully, her look has been modernised up a bit, so gone is the cheerleader style outfit and bleach blonde locks of the comic book version, as Supergirl steps into slightly more conservative attire.
The costume was created by the same designer who worked on the outfits for The Flash and Arrow, the Oscar winning Colleen Atwood; “In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today,” she told Deadline.
The story will begin with a 24-year-old Supergirl, or Kara Zor-El,who has been hanging around in the background while her famous cousin went on about saving the world, but now at twenty-four she is ready to step up to the plate and become the hero she was destined to be.
