Ah, Meryl; what would we do without you?
The 2017 Oscar nominations were announced yesterday and among the Best Actress nominees, alongside Emma Stone, Isabelle Huppert, Natalie Portman and our own Ruth Negga, was the inimitable Meryl Streep.
Meryl was nominated for her performance as the titular character in Florence Foster Jenkins, a real-life figure who was a socialite and soprano who was mocked for her poor singing.
Streep broke her own record as she received her 20th Academy Award nomination.
Her reaction was the perfect gif, and what we love most of all is, this was her official statement.
This is Meryl Streep's #Oscars nomination statement. Seriously, she sent a gif. pic.twitter.com/wa18Jix6Vf

“Please find the following GIF as a statement on behalf of Meryl Streep,” a Paramount publicist had written in an email following the nomination announcements .
The clip comes from her appearance in Paul McCartney’s music video for ‘Queenie Eye’:
Never change.
