The eternally fabulous actress was none too pleased about the western star's comments in a recent interview with Esquire.
Eastwood said that the presidential candidate was ‘‘onto something’ and argued that ‘[Trump’s] just saying what's on his mind. And sometimes it's not so good. And sometimes it's … I mean, I can understand where he's coming from, but I don't always agree with it.’
He gestured that Trump’s comments were viewed as racist because the public are too PC, and said that he would vote for Trump over Hilary Clinton.
Streep on the other hand has been determinedly anti-Trump, even posing as the nominee in a fat suit and orangeface for a satirical performance in New York last June. She has been an avid supporter of Clinton and made a rousing speech in support of the nominee at the DNC last month.
Speaking to Variety, Streep was informed of where Clint was putting his vote, and she expressed that she’d ‘have to correct' him.

‘I didn’t know that,’ she said, described by Variety as ‘visibly surprised [and] choosing her words carefully’. ‘I’ll have to speak to him. I’ll have to correct that! I’m shocked. I really am. Because he’s more — I would have thought he would be more sensitive than that.’
