It was confirmed last January that Gilmore Girls would be returning for a Netflix-only four-part series, with most of its main cast reclaiming their roles. However there was always speculation over Melissa McCarthy's part in this reboot given that she's now a Hollywood bigwig and whatnot these days.
The Bridesmaids actress had said previously she hadn't been asked as they assumed she was busy, and then when they actually did, she was.
As of yesterday though, the star received news that the scheduling difficulties had been worked out and she WILL be returning to the show! Sure it just would not have been the same without Sookie.
