Some very unfortunate breaking news in the TV world this evening, it's emerged that Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc will step down as hosts of The Great British Bake Off.
Yesterday brought the news that BBC had lost the rights to its landmark show, but that Channel 4 would be stepping in and taking on the series. However, now the channel have said that the show's popular hosts won't be returning.
The duo have fronted the show since it first aired in 2010, alongside judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
A joint statement said: "We were very shocked and saddened to learn yesterday evening that Bake Off will be moving from its home. We made no secret of our desire for the show to remain where it was."
The news will come as blow to fans of the show, and we have to say, it really just won't be the same without them.
