Tonight marks the finale of one of the summer's most popular shows, Love Island, with one couple set to scoop the grand prize of £50,000. The show has proved a ratings winner for ITV, so much so that they have no intention of letting the islanders just walk away and have a follow-up show planned that will air next weekend.
The show, called Love Island: Heading Home will follow the couples back home and meeting for the first time. According to ITV, it will ‘see the couples go on dates or film in each other’s houses and cameras will follow their every move’. It will also show what the early leavers have been up to since they left the island.
A source told The Sun: "Love Island is enjoying incredible ratings and doing a follow-up show was a no-brainer".
Adding; "The islanders’ stresses on the show are nothing compared to the pressure in the outside world. We’ll see who flourishes and who flounders."
