That means no more coming home to extortionate bills that end up costing more than your holiday and make you wish you'd never gone away in the first place.
According to the BBC, thanks to a deal reached today between the European Union and telecom providers, data roaming surcharges are to be significantly reduced from April 2016 in a 14 month interim period and completely abolished by June 2017.

During the interim period, charges in the EU will be reduced by 75% as caps on calls, texts and data fees come into place meaning operators won't be able to charge more than €0.05 extra per minute for calls, €0.02 extra per SMS sent and €0.05 extra per megabyte of data used. And then once June 2017 rolls around, it's nothing more than your current plan, which means you can sit on the beach in Spain scrolling through Twitter, chatting up a storm and uploading all those Instagram photos to your hearts content knowing that you're not going to owe a pound of flesh once you get home. It'll almost be like you never left.
