Here is another recipe in my ‘Edible Christmas Gifts’ series. This is a recipe for classic creamy fudge, which I think most people are big fans of! This version combines, vanilla, sea salt and chocolate chips for a really delicious taste. Once sliced up, the fudge can be placed in a tin or jar with a ribbon and voila the perfect Christmas gift!
Ingredients:
- 397g tin condensed milk
- 150g light brown sugar
- 50g butter
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla powder
Method:
- Line a small rectangular/square dish with some greaseproof paper
- In a large, non-stick, heavy-based pan, add the condensed milk, butter and light brown sugar.
- Melt the ingredients over a medium heat, and use a wooden spoon to stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Make sure the sugar does not burn, so ensure you keep stirring!

- Next, carefully bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Stir it constantly for around ten minutes.
- Next, take the pan off the heat, and add a good pinch of sea salt
- Then, using the wooden spoon again, stir the mixture until it begins to firm up a little – for about five minutes.
- Carefully, pour the mixture into your lined tin
- Sprinkle over your chocolate chips and another pinch of sea salt
- Leave the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 4 hours
- Once completely cooled, chop into pieces using a sharp knife.
- Place your fudge in a tin or jar, and tie a ribbon around for the perfect Christmas gift!
