Although we're not sure if we'd like the world and its entire extended family to witness us in labour, we think this is all sorts of brilliant.
Connell Cloyd uploaded a video to Facebook last week showing his wife Yuki dancing through her labour pains while awaiting the birth of their second child, entertaining the staff in the hospital and distracting herself from the pain and stress of childbirth. And this isn't some lazy pacing and sidestep action, Yuki full on dances, doing 'The Tootsie Roll' and more while her husband and a nurse watch.
According to Dr. Bill Camann, director of obstetric anesthesia at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where Yuki was giving birth, "any type of movement during labor is encouraged, as it can be helpful in relieving a woman's pain and taking her mind off the intensity of labor".
So far the video has been viewed over 7 million times since Cloyd posted it last week. And in case you were wondering, it was a baby boy called Coji. Here's hoping he gets his mama's dance skills.
