Taking a good selfie is an art at this stage. Some people are selfie naturals. If you are not one of those people a selfie ring light could be your new friend.
I must say I find a good selfie a rare and seldom thing. I usually look like a character from Punch and Judy who has been taken by surprise. But some of you more photogenic types must love a good selfie. However, if you are like me and you're on the eternal search for a great selfie, you could probably benefit from this pocket-sized selfie ring light.
They come in lots of different shapes and forms, and the one I have is by Ciara Daly. It has three light settings, so three levels of brightness. This one is rechargeable with a USB cable, but others are battery operated. They are sold out in her online store at the moment but fear not, there are many, many more out there. They range in price, but you should easily pick one up for under fifteen quid.

The idea behind these handy little devices is that they will brighten your eyes and make your features appear clearer. It should make for a better overall photograph. I have taken a picture of my makeup today with and without the light on so that you can see the difference it makes.

You can see that in the second picture with the light on, the background appears darker but my face - which is obviously supposed to be the main feature of a selfie - is much clearer. It enhances your features and your makeup. So if you're fed up of a fuzzy selfie, this could really improve your skills. They are small, about the size of the palm of your hand, so it's easy to slip into your handbag.
The only question is - are you brave enough to take it out in public or would you be too embarrassed?
