We all know that not using an SPF is pretty stupid if you're trying to prevent the signs of ageing but sunscreen isn't always makeup's pal
In April, Sarah Jane discovered the Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist. She heralded it as your new best friend, and we believed the hype (because it's true). The setting mist does it all: it hydrates, keeps your makeup set for hours AND, best of all, and most importantly, it has an SPF 50. The only problem is that it's only available to buy online and a 100 ml bottle costs €27.
Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist
We were genuinely in awe at this discovery. We want to wear an SPF every day because we know that the sun can cause damage to skin even when it's cloudy, but it sure can eff up one's makeup. But having to order this online is a pain, and so is the price.
Then, we discovered this. The Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced Protecting and Hydrating Face Mist, which may not look as sexy, but it does the same job. We've tried it (it lives in our bag now), and there's no makeup effing up whatsoever.

Garnier ran a report that found that a quarter of Irish women never use sunscreen in their daily routine, even though they know they should and the top reasons for not using it were the horrible sticky texture and the makeup ruining factor.
This spray is so lightweight I have to look into a mirror when applying it to make sure it's actually going on, and it feels like a hydrating setting mist, which is always nice. We are strong advocates for using sunscreen, and we wag our fingers at those who don't. A reminder: it's not all about protecting from sunburn, it's about shielding your face (and body) from UVA and UVB rays which cause skin damage and premature ageing. With this, you really don't have an excuse not to use an SPF. Spray it all over your 'forgetful' boyfriend's face too.
The Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced Protecting and Hydrating Face Mist is available in pharmacies, grocery stores and Penneys nationwide for RRP €15, so you can pick it up with all of your other essential messages.
