I think it's fair to say this is one launch you won't be sending the man in your life into Brown Thomas to pick up for you on his lunchbreak. Mickey* Contractor is the latest unintentionally hilarious limited edition collection from Mac, and is on counter now.
Not, in fact, some sort of horrid penis de-embiggening device, Mickey Contractor is an Indian makeup artist - Mac's directoy of artistry for India, no less - and is famed for his work on Bollywood films. No, I hadn't heard of him either, and nor have I been to the country, but this collection really does seem to encapsulate a lot of the idea I have of the vivid hues of the sub-continent. Fueled by gaudy saris from Asha and, yes, the Darjeeling Limited, natch - but saffron, fuchsia and bright, clear jewel tones just scream India to me.
This is pretty much a full face line with extra Studio Fix foundation and Select Moisturecover concealer shades plus those bright colour pops. I'm gonna mostly concentrate on the colour cosmetics because the base options are quite dark and aimed at non-Celtic skintones, so just keep scrolling below.
Four shadows, all limited, are available. We've got Oomph (velux pearl, as worn by the model top right), left, Marvel (frost), middle and Rani (frost) as well as Saffron, a satin coral shade. Each is €15.
Like Cham Pale, there's a quad with this collection too. Athma, €47.50, is limited and contains, clockwise from top left, Jaan (lustre), Folie (satin), Carbon (matte) and Vivah (lustre).

Four lipsticks are included in the line. The two shown here are Gulabi (amplified) and Mehr (matte). The two others are Yash, a matte neutral browny beige and Mocha, a peachy yellow-brown with a satin finish. They're all €17.50 and the first three will be limited.
I was sent Gulabi - it's a beautiful shade which you can see on the model top left. Apologies for lack of swatch, the light is so bad at the moment that I'm not getting good images that are colour-true. But it's a very me shade, and beautiful on, with a glossy, creamy finish.
The two Lipglasses in the collection are pretty urgh to my eyes. Monkiered Lust (the dusky pink) and Flesh (the brown); Lust is a limited shade and both will cost €17. The brand also sent me Flesh to try and oh dear, I hate it. It's a horrid warm brown that reminds me of baby poo. Sorry Mac. But this is one shade I would never ever ever in a bajillion years buy and would wear about a trillion years beyond that too.
If you have a deeper, warmer skintone - which of course this line is aimed at - and are looking for a genuine fleshy neutral to wear with some very graphic makeup, then yeah, I can see it working. On me and my Irish pallor, oh not so much.
These are the things that have really captured my attention about the Mickey Contractor launch though, because the shades are great and they'll work as well on pale, cool skintones as they will on darker, warmer ones. Oh, are they fab or what? Both Fluidlines in the collection are limited and they are Ivy, left, and Siahi, right. €17.50 for each is the damage, and it's been a while since I've had a real proper pang of longing for a product, but I think I need to own these. Off to Brown Thomas for an exploratory explore I go.

What do you think? Anything grab you from the range?
