I quite like Bare Minerals make up. While the classic mineral foundation doesn’t suit me, I liked the Brightening Serum foundation the brand launched last year and there are some lovely products in the larger range. I’ve been using one of their lip liners for ages (it perfectly matches my lip colour).
The new collection Modern Pop, landing in February, taps into the trend for fresh, natural spring shades we’ve been seeing a lot of.
According to the press bumf it’s, ‘a colour collection for lush lashes, delicately vibrant eyes [and] creamy peach lips highlighting a luminous complexion’ and delicate is a good word for it. Despite the Modern Pop name, I can’t really spot a modern twist but if you’re looking for soft pastel shades for eyes and a neutral lip it might be worth checking out.
First up is the READY Eyeshadow 4.0 quad in The Modern Icon (€36). The quad contains Chic (a pink cashmere), Carefree (peach sherbet), Sophisticate (a soft amethyst), Exhale (warm slate). The shadows are beautifully soft and the pigment isn’t bad for such pale shades.

Also for eyes is a nude Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner in Classic Cream (€18) and Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara in Intense Black (€21).
There are four lip products - three lipsticks and a top coat gloss.

The trio of Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks (€21 each) are Dream Big (nude peach), Express Yourself (coral peach) and Fall in Love (described as a dark peach but looks more of a peachy brown/caramel), then wrapping up the line is a Marvelous Moxie Cream Glaze Lip Topcoat in Pearl Glaze (€19), a smooth milky gloss that gives shine but no shimmer. Which is just fine by me.
