Runway-inspired styles can give an edge to a classic ponytail. We've picked out three from Fashion Week that will update your look in a flash.
Runway inspired styles don't always have to be totally crazy. In fact, a lot of the time they're quite simple. It's just one small detail that makes all the difference. Especially when it comes to something as 'normal' as a ponytail. With so much desk to dance floor action happening this time of year though, a simple updo might be just what we need. And what's easier than throwing it up into a pony?
When we think party season, a ponytail might not be the first thing to pop into your head. But these runway-inspired styles might just change your mind.

Bows were seen at a lot of shows this season including Erdem. Depending on what you prefer, you can choose a thick or thin ribbon (we love the effortlessness of the thin ones). Team with textured hair and you've got an easy to wear, runway inspired look. Kate Middleton is also in on the act.

Hairbands are a big trend for both this season and next. We loved the embellished ones at Prada and Simone Rocha. Tom Ford kept things a little more rock n roll with his leather headbands.

Wrapped ponytails were all over the runways this season, but we love this look created by Redken. You could use a gold ribbon, or wire for an added edge.
