A couple of dodgy run-ins with Rimmel in my teenage years means that they wouldn't normally be my first port of call for a mascara fix. However, it seems that my recent good experience with a Body Shop offering has turned my world a bit topsy-turvy because I am very interested in their latest eyelash-coater. This may also have something to do with Sophie Ellis-Bextor (love her) being installed as a new poster girl for the brand and the face - or eyelashes? - of their new Sexy Curves mascara... and it doesn't hurt that the packaging is all metallic purple shiny loveliness.

This is yet another of the current crop of mascaras with maaaaad-looking brushes: this time around, it's a purple, flexible, silicone affair with a triumvirate of curves and multi-length bristles. All the better to coat every eyelash from root to tip without having to wiggle the brush in that terribly difficult and time-consuming fashion, apparently. The mascara formula itself promises to add volume and up to 70% more curl to lashes, comes in black or black-brown, and is on stand in Rimmel stockists nationwide for a not-too-bank-busting €10.75.
