It's probably not calcium deficiency: The real reason why your nails have white marks

You make a specific point to drink a glass of milk or eat some cheese, but those damn white spots still appear on your nails. Why, God, why?

We've been led to believe that those pesky white nail spots are down to something going awry in your diet. (That or, eh, a fungal nail infection.) While it could be the case for a handful of people, generally, there's a much different reason for your nails not cooperating with your manicure.

According to Youtube channel SciShow, the marks are probably there because you're a klutz. The 'punctate leukonychia' are likely the result of a trauma to the nail. But, because nails are so delicate and ultra-sensitive, you probably didn't even notice it happening. Bet you'll think twice about biting them now, though. *Imagines tiny nail voices screaming*
