Men end up paying a huge amount for blades, and clever Gillette seem to bring out approx 45 new razors a year. Each new razor needs a new type of blade, and they're always more expensive than the blades for the last razor they released. For example, blades for their new Fusion Power Razor cost €17! And that's for four. I thought it was bad having to cough up a tenner for Venus blades, but no, it seems we're not so badly off after all.

In the absence of anyone manufacturing cloned copies of blades for half the price (no doubt all to do with patents and whatnot), what's a guy to do? Well - Ebay. There are always a ton of blades on sale, a lot of which probably fell of the back of a lorry. But if that doesn't bother you or you're giving the seller the benefit of the doubt, then you should be able to easily pick up multi-packs of blades for Gillette's Mach 3, Mach 3 Turbo, Mach 3 Power, Fusion and Fusion Power razors. Even with shipping to Ireland you'll be unlucky if you don't see a saving.
