We've had sunshine for a whole two days now so it's time to break out the SPF posts. Handily, news of a new Elizabeth Arden launch reached the Beaut.ie newsdesk by Telex (ah not really by Telex, more's the pity. Soon I am going to only want to listen to music on Eight Track etc) this week and it's right on time and nicely seasonally-appropriate.
Well, until it begins to snow again, that is.
Arden have been extending the Eight Hour franchise slowly over the years but branched out into facial skincare last year with the launch of Eight Hour Moisturiser, and now Eight Hour Cream Sun Defense for Face SPF 50 has just landed. In bright shiny, yellow packaging, this here is a broad-spectrum chemical/mineral protectant cream that's oil-free and suitable for everyday use.
Hydrating properties are built in so depending on your skin you can use it after moisturiser, instead of moisturiser if your face likes it well enough on its own, or under your foundation as a daily protector. Having something like this in your beauty arsenal is a must really, especially for summer - my regular high-factor picks are Chanel's UV Essentiel, La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50+ and Creme de la Mer's fancy-schmancy SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid. Should this one pass my desk, I'll certainly give it a whirl.

That's the gen, but what about the price? Bearing in mind the crazy hikes between the euro and sterling, this costs £22 in the UK. So how much do you reckon we'll pay here?
€25, ladies. TWENTY FIVE! OH happy day, praise the lord and pass the biscuits. Well done, Elizabeth Arden. This is quite the thing we want to see, and I have a feeling your Irish customers will reward you with lots of delightful, "yay, we're not being ripped off" purchases.
