When I was putting together the "bath or shower?" post last week, I was reminded of a time when I was ALL about baths. I don't think there was ever a problem getting me into the bath as a kid, and there's no doubt that was thanks in part to the presence of a bottle of Matey in the bathroom at all times, and I'm so old that I remember a time when the only options were Mr. Matey and his missus in their non-moulded, skittle-shaped bottles.
I'd probably never have left the bath at all if there had been parrots and mermaids available back then.
No fancy candles? No problem: all that I then (aged five)Â required for a fab bath was one capfull of Matey (poured into and dispensed from the character's actual cap - amaze!).

That stuff was capable of creating what seemed to mini me like a room full of bubbles and the staying power was beyond incredible. You could make loads of foam hair, beards, moustaches, jewellery and bikinis without depleting the bubble stocks too severely.
I'm sorely tempted to run out and buy a bottle to see if it's as magic as I remember.
Were you a Matey fan?
