Given the theme of last night's MET Gala was China: Through the Looking Glass you can expect (very carefully placed) sequins/beading, cutaways, sheer material all over the gaf, and more 'Wang' than one could shake a stick at.
As usual, there were a lot of dresses that were understated and entirely wearable, but nary a spotlight is being shone on them today... This is The MET Gala, people mostly want to see the crazy stuff.
Keeping that in mind, here is Rihanna in a Guo Pe robe/rug.
Also giving it welly with the theme was SJP. She created a just as eye-catching look courtesy of an H&M dress. As beautiful as it is, it was second fiddle to the (of course) Philip Treacy headgear.
Both Beyonce and Kim came adorned in the aforementioned carefully placed sequins over their sheer sheaths, complete with rapping husbands on their arms. Kim's offering is Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas dress, while Beyonce went for Givenchy Haute Couture by Ricardo Tisci.
Although you'd think Jay Z would've been happy to leave Beyonce strike some poses on the red carpet given the occasion...
In case you were at this point wondering if Solange put in an appearance; she was playing peekaboo behind a Giles number... She'd have a spot of bother maneuvering into a lift in this, never mind engaging in some top kung fu moves. Sorry, someone had to say it.

Also keeping it dramatic were Katy Perry and Madonna, both in Moschino. Katy Perry went one step further and got Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood attached to the back of her dress. Ah no, we're obviously joking; that's Jeremy Scott looking FIERCE.
Jennifer Lopez came in Versache, which was handy given Donatella was her date. Would've been a bit awks otherwise.
And where would any MET Gala be without Lady Gaga sashaying about, taking over half the red carpet in Balenciaga and what appears to be an homage to Lady Liberty.
And there is your Top Ten Most Dramatic Looks from the MET Gala according to our eyeballs. Other notable looks from the night came courtesy of Katie Holmes' new hairdo (or wig, we're undecided), she was wearing Zac Posen; Emily Blunt in Prada; Julianne Moore in Givenchy; Kendall Jenner in a stunning case of side-boobage thanks to her Calvin Klein number...
Reese Witherspoon in Jason Wu; Claire Danes in Valentino; Anne Hathaway going above and beyond in Prada given it was May 4th (Star Wars fans will get it)...
Kerry Washington in a whole lot of Prada; Anna Wintour in Chanel, Amal Clooney in John Galliano, and Poppy Delevingne toting a lot of poppies via Marchesa.
Both Miley Cyrus and Zoe Kravitz chose Alexander Wang, while Selena Gomez came as a bride courtesy of her Vera Wang number.
Olivia Wilde left us a bit cold in Prada, while Sienna Miller (Thakoon), Cara Delevingne (Stella McCartney), and Diane Kruger (Chanel) tried something a bit different in pant suits.
Keeping things short and sweet were Miranda Kerr (Louis Vuitton), Dakota Johnson (Chanel), and Chloe Grace Moretz (Coach).
