Can you beat a red lip and a soft gold smoky eye for Christmas makeup? We don't think so. Here's the lowdown on how we like to create the look.
This is our very favourite lip and eye combo for the party season. It is such a classic look. This makeup always photographs well for all the crimbo party pics. It has just the right amount of sparkle against a luxuriously matte lip. Finally, it will never date so you won't look back at pictures and think you looked mad in your Christmas makeup.
If you are a bit wary of a red lip you can always swap it for a nude lip or go for a burgundy colour. I introduced myself to the idea of a red lip by wearing its deeper, less in-your-face burgundy sister. Both will work well against a sparkly gold eye.

Use the Balm Foiled again eyeshadow palette in the shade Arrested for the base. Busted, Mayhem and Red Handed foiled eyeshadows will give you a sparkly gold eyelid. Use matte shades Unmarked and Seized to deepen the edges and the lower lash line and give you that smokey effect.
Finish the eyes with some liquid eyeliner and lashings of mascara!

For your pout:
We love the Balm Boyfriend Material lip pencil all over the lips to give you a long-wearing matte finish. We always use a lip primer when using red lipstick to prevent feathering or smudging.
For the rest:
Use your favourite foundation. We recommend using something with good coverage with this makeup look. Strong lip colours will show up any redness or uneven skin tone. So it's best to have a flawless base.
