Oversprays: Yay or Nay?

Before Christmas, Aphrodite gave out yards about a Rimmel shadow she'd been suckered by. Boasting a glittery silver top, she assumed the shade would go the whole way through. Eh, wrong. She was a victim of the practice of overspraying, which happens a lot more than I'd like to see, and much and all as I think Lancome's O My Rose collection is fab, is precisely why I wasn't too gone on the Pop'N'Cheeks blusher. Once the gold is gone, well, you're left with peach. It's a nice peach, for sure, but well, it's not really what you laid down €45 for, is it?

Overspraying is most common with face powders, from what I can tell - a shimmering, seductive layer of sparkle promises you a finish that you'll never achieve past the first couple of uses, and while Guerlain is another brand which is a divil for this, somehow I'm able to forgive - the company's limited-edition embellished shadow quads in particular are just so beautiful I tend to let them off ire-wise.

But it is irritating when you shell out cash for a product you think is going to perform a certain way or help you to achieve a certain look. And then, um, it doesn't. Where do you stand on the issue? Big deal? No deal?
