With the dawn of every new year, I make a few very solemn promises to myself: to go back to college, to find a job that I love, to take up running and yoga, to stop succumbing to the lure of Mr. Tayto every lunchtime. Like all resolutions made in January, though, these good intentions bite the dust pretty damn quickly - mine never seem to make it past the end of the month.
So this year, I'm not going to bother with making and then inevitably breaking formal resolutions. Instead, I'm just going to try and do one small thing - drink more water. I'm not even going to commit to an amount. I'll be aiming to take in 1 1/2 to 2 litres a day, but frankly I'm not going to beat myself up about it if some freezing morning I decide to load up on some lovely hot milky tea instead and don't hit my eau quota for the day!
Drinking water isn't exactly something I enjoy but I'm determined to make a real effort because I do notice a seriously marked improvement in my complexion, my cellulite, my concentration (I'm generally *extremely* distractable... ooh look, a birdie!), and feel so much better in myself generally even when I sporadically glug down a little more H2O.

I've managed about a litre already today with no great struggle, so it's going pretty well so far. Er, now if you'll excuse me, I must nip to the Ladies'... again...
