Everyone, and we mean everyone, deserves a holiday. However, going on holiday can be so friggin' stressful - and we're not talking about worrying that you'll sleep thr0ugh the alarm or forget your passport. No, space is the worry, or lack of.
It's not so bad when you are can check in a bag at the airport and it's fine if you're taking the car (they're my favourite holidays - you don't even need a bag you can just fire everything into the boot!) but for short trips or to escape nasty baggage fees, there's no point in bringing anything other than a carry-on.
Cabin baggage rules have slackened in the past couple of years, thank God. I always bring a little wheely case I got in TK Maxx years ago as my 'main bag' but I also take a huge tote that's practically the same size as it where I keep a pair of shoes, my undies, my book (and mags that I buy at the airport) and my makeup and toiletries.
Which is where the big issue lies.
There's a tendency for people who are serious about their skincare regime to freak out when it comes to packing their lotions and potions, especially since serious skincare regimes have quite a few steps. You simply can't bring everything with you and you certainly can't bring them in their original container (if it's bigger than 100 ml) and so, you have to carefully consider what to bring.

I keep sachets of shampoo and conditioner that come free with magazines to bring on holidays but I wouldn't exchange my very specific moisturiser or serum for one in a travel size from Boots.
Decanting your essential lotions into travel sized bottles is the way to go. You'll have a pretty good idea about how much product you use at a time so squeeze it in with that in mind, rather than filling it all the way up to the top. You can buy handy little travel sets in Penneys and Dealz that come in their own bag so you don't have to worry too much about leaking. Don't forget to buy a set of sticky labels (if you don't have a set already)!
For things like body sun cream, the best idea is to buy in the country you're in: you will definitely use a lot more than 100 ml's worth and you will waste space by having to fill up more than one travel sized bottle with the same product. I always buy my toothpaste when I get to my destination too.
Do you experience packing anxiety when it comes to your skincare products, or makeup for that matter? What products do you temporarily forget about in the name of space?
