Lancome Genifique Soleil with SPF30, €28.50, is a product that really, really confused me at first. The yellow-y orange packaging and the line "your tan looks magnificently radiant and even, as if lit from within" on the back of the box had me convinced it was a self-tanner with SPF, but it's not. It's a UVA-UVB sunscreen for the face that's part of Lancôme's Génifique suite of products. The Sôleil range of sun protection includes products for both face and body with a choice of SPFs from 15-50.
In addition to UVA-UVB protection, appara there's a powerful anti-oxidant complex to help ward off changes to gene activity. Now, I can't say that my genes are looking any the better for using this stuff, but I am very much liking it as a daily sunscreen. Usually I prefer to use a moisturiser with SPF for the sake of convenience and was wary of adding another creamy step to my routine.
I worried that it might lead to congestion problems that would rival Abbeyleix of a Friday evening.

I was afraid that make-up wouldn't go on or last well over it.
All those doubts proved to be needless: there hasn't been a single (additional) blocked pore since I started using it, and while it initially looks quite white on application it's very quickly absorbed to leave no mask-like residue and is non-greasy. And as far as make-up goes, well, I've used both MAC Studio Fix Fluid and NYC Mineral Powder foundations over it with no adverse effects.
