Jennifer Aniston Discusses Her Self-Imposed 'Tanning Intervention'

We're very proud of you, Jennifer. It's very brave to not only step away from the tanning after a friend casually mentions you're starting to resemble a block of fudge, but to actually stage a tanning-intervention on yourself is nothing short of a miracle. Then again, Jennifer's method of tanning was reportedly all natural. Like, not from a bottle - from the actual sun.

Speaking People Magazine, Aniston said: "I gave myself a sun-tanning intervention a few years ago, where I was basically saying, ‘Let’s just quit while we’re ahead.' I was not great as a kid with sunscreen. That’s one of my big regrets. Now I use Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15.” As it happens, she is an ambassador for the brand, we've all the seen the ads.

Aniston, who has been papped countless times lolling on sun loungers in Cabo, had previously said: "Honestly, this is going to sound so silly - going in the sun for 20 minutes a day is really important, vitamin D, because we are now having a vitamin D deficiency because of all the SPF."

She's got a point. Although you can still lash a load of SPF on your face; your body will still pick up the required vitamin D, just remember to take yourself out of the sun after the allocated 20 minutes. Seriously, there's going to be highs of 23 degrees today, and our blue Irish bodies aren't used to it.

Meanwhile, Jennifer has some life advice for the older ladies: "We’re going to feel good about ourselves if we see another woman who is 50 and rocking it. If society is telling you to sit it out after 40, you diminish yourself. Believe what you feel. If you feel crappy about yourself, it’s going to show."

Starting to not feel crappy about yourself starts with fuel you put into it (says her who hasn't had breakfast yet and is mentally earmarking the gone off coffee slice languishing in the fridge). And that's possibly why Jennifer is considering releasing a cookbook. Speaking with Yahoo, she added: “I would like to do a lifestyle thing, for people who struggle with dieting. I could just make anything for a diet taste delicious."

Have you ever been tempted to stage a 'tanning-intervention' for a loved one?
