Over the last few weeks I've been trying out some of the many instant tans on the market.
And guess what? I've liked them all.
I mean really liked them all. I didn't realise how sick to death I was of the rancid stale biscuit smell of fake tan, the bang of DHA enveloping my sheets and clothes, the unnatural orange that most fake tan develops into (no matter what it promises). That's why I was so glad to hear about the new skin finishing trend - and the love we're developing for wash off tan.
There's no DHA stink you see - because the tan doesn't develop. Instead what you're applying is a virtually mistake proof coloured body tint - no fear of streaks because if you see one you can either wash it off or just put a bit more on to even it out.

He Shi One Day Tan, €20, and Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer Wash Gel, €15.39, are both dark gels which work just like body lotion. They smell nice and provide an instant tan which looks natural (i.e. not orange). Just let them totally dry for a few minutes before putting on your clothes to be sure to be sure nothing rubs off.
Bourjois Delice de Soleil, €11.99, is a different sort of animal, a spray on skin finisher. Shake up the can and spray this stuff on. It smells gorgeous and chocolatey and there's no need to rub it it - the colour is even. Perfect for the laziest of lazy girls. The only problem I had with this though is that the can is tiny and I can't see it lasting that long. Bring on a bigger can Bourjois!
