Ah brushes. We could talk about them all day long, couldn't we? Do you really need 'em, we're always being asked. Can you substitute cheap for expensive? Sure is it not grand altogether to just lash your pearly blue eyeshadow right up to the browbone with a sponge-tip applicator? No? Oh.
This little feller above from Inglot was one of the products that was sent in for testing for this year's Prudence Best Buy Beauty Awards, and when I went to meet makeup artist Leonard Daly, who judged the eye makeup category, to get his rates and slates, he was full of praise for it. At €25 for six travel-sized brushes in a little zippy pouch, you get mostly eye tools and one for cheeks. They've got normal-sized heads - so no performance compromise - with small handles to make them more portable.
Honest to god sir, eyes are the one thing I think you genuinely do need brushes for. Lash your foundation on with your fingers to your heart's content, but you'll never get lovely blended shadow effects without brushes. They can make such a difference to what you'll be able to achieve from the products you already own too, so if you really can't bear to splash out, if you're new to brushes, or just want a set to take around in your handbag, then I reckon this little kit is a good bet.
