Nothing says festive to me more than gold eyeshadow. I'm not a fan of gold jewellery, but gold worn on the eyes is luxe, glamorous and eyecatching. And depending on how you wear it, it suits everyone. If you're dark skinned, it will look amazing on its own, and if you're pale and interesting, a slick of liquid liner will give definition to your eyes and look geat with the golden sparkle of the shadow. (just don't put it on like yer man over there on the left)
Good gold shadows I wouldn't throw out of my makeup bag for eating crisps are Ruby and Millie Eye Colour in Gold, which is subtle shade; Urban Decays Deluxe Eyeshadow in Honey, which is a glistening gold; Bourjois Suivez mon Regard in Or pépite will provide a muted sweep of shimmering colour and for very subtle glitz on the cheap, you could do worse than try out the No17 eye creme I just roadtested.
