There comes a time in a lady's life that she pauses and thinks, "do these pigtails look utterly ridiculous on me?" Pigtails are indeed the hair style of five year olds but lookit, it's easy to do and looks really cute on thirty year old women, right? Right?
I am totally against abandoning or avoiding beauty trends because of your age. I think everyone should be able to do whatever they want with their own faces, bodies and hair (er, as long as it's safe) although I do draw the line at perfectly smooth faced 21 year olds getting Botox.
That said, I think it's time for me to stop wearing such short skirts. It's not fair on my cellulitey thighs. I'm also starting to reconsider circling my eyes with the gusto of a toddler scribbling on a wall - it works for Kate Moss but it makes my eyes look tiny - and tired. The I've been-up-all-night-and-I'm-at-it-again thing only works for bona fide rock chicks and The Youth.

You know the way some women chop all of their hair off after they get married because long tresses get in the way of having the dinner on the table promptly at 5.30 when their husband gets home from work? I don't think I'll ever do that - pigtails can't be done on a pixie cut.
So, do you think there should be a cut off point for beauty trends? Or should you be sporting neon lippy and eye shadow until you're at least 80 years old? Let's share our feelings on the matter this Friday.
