Tom Ford’s spring collection hits counters today and is most definitely not your usual sparkly pink flowers spring sort of thing.
Inspired by 70s’ rock it’s all bit grungy and dark, metallic shades are offset with a touch of shimmer. It’s all about eyes and nails as well, with two mascaras (€42 a piece) three Eye Color Duo compacts (€50 each) and two nail lacquers (€32 each).
The new Eye Color Duo shades, Crushed Indigo, Raw Jade and Ripe Plum, have a metallic dark shade teamed with a high colour opaline which can be worn alone or layered and buffed with the deeper shade.
The shadows have a gelle-powder texture and work wet or dry. We got our hands on the Ripe Plum shade to have a play with and as usual with Tom Ford shadows, the pigment is good and the texture is lovely.

I know that the colours look a different than when in the pan, as per the shot above. There is a bold iridescence from the pale shade (which the flash picked up here) while its partner is almost like a dark brown when swatched but buffs to a beautiful smoked purple when blended.
There are two shades of Extreme Mascara, Black Plum and Teal Intense, and Ford’s spring look finishes with dramatic nails. There are two new nail shades and the Tom Ford classic, Bitter Bitch.
The new arrivals are Black Jade, a deep green, and the inky Indigo Night, shown above.
