While maybe not as showstopping as the collection I showed you a little earlier - French Ballerina - this mini edit of nail magic deserves a special "spotlight". Lancome's nail varnishes are things of joy and this is the first time they've brought out a base coat like this.
Before you stop reading due to the underwhelming lack of excitement you may be feeling, let me explain. Vernis In Love 030 (€18) is an undercoat colour booster. Perfectly white in shade, it can be worn on its own or used as an undercoat to strengthen and nourish nails with calcium and rose extracts. So far, so ordinary. But apparently it creates "an immaculate canvas to fully express each of the Vernis in Love with more concentrated colour than ever".
It remains to be seen whether a) it will actually do this or you'd be better off with a generous second coat of your chosen colour, or b) whether it will be effective with other brands too. But sure I'll give it a lash - and if it works I will rush breathlessly to tell you.

What are you liking base coat wise at the moment - or do you even bother with one?
Also new this month is the punchy fuschia Vernis in Love shade Rose Satin (366).
