When I first came across the Cinderella 'trend edition' collection from Essence I immediately thought, oh, this will be a good suggestion for little girl makeup. And it's true, little girls will love these nail colours, but so will teenagers, students and grown women.
For nail polishes that cost €2.49 each, these are simply gorgeous.
The collection includes four colours and a glitter topper. The pink (01 Sing, Sing Sweet Nightingale) and lilac (01 Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo) colours aren't your average pastels; they have a lovely, soft shimmer which is really obvious when you apply the polish but they dry to a matte, 'porcelain' finish leaving the shimmer much more subtle. Really lovely.
The blue (03 Prince Charming) - which is my favourite, it's the same colour as Cinderella's dress in the new movie! - and light gold (04 Watch Out Lady Tremaine) colours dry to a shiny, 'metallic' finish.

The only trouble with these polishes is the age old one that applies to many budget nail products. The formula is quite watery so you do have to be careful when applying. I had to apply a few layers as one and two are much too light and transparent but layering runs the risk of a kind of marbled effect with the metallic shades and can lead to thinner areas in the porcelain ones. Just be careful with the amount of polish that's on the brush and give the bottles a good shake before you use them.
The glitter top coat is also really pretty. Childish, yes. Perfect for anyone who loves a bit of bling, also yes. And this one is so easy to apply. But, since it's glitter, it's hard to get off.
We got our hands on the whole collection and will be trying them out in due course so keep your eyes peeled.
