Whether it's for a special occasion (or every day if you are a regular makeup wearer) priming your skin is the most important part of your routine. But, surprisingly enough, primer is possibly the most underrated product on the market. That said, once you try it, you can never go without it again.
The trick with primers is to find one that suits your own skin type and requirements. So, for example, if you have open pores or oily skin, go with a primer that balances that.
Oily skinned folk who have dabbled with primers will more than likely have heard of Benefit's Porefessional. It's become a cult classic for good reason (one or two women here at Beaut HQ won't use anything else) and now they've gone and expanded the range with two new priming products that could be very exciting indeed.
- The POREfessional: Matte Rescue invisible-finish mattifying gel €31
This is a water based formula which absorbs excess surface oil and leaves the skin with a natural matte finish. The hero ingredient is diamond powder which is known for its soft focus, pore-blurring effect. Invisible-finish mattifying gel promises reduce pores, fine lines and shine leaving your skin primed to perfection and ready for your makeup to glide on smoothly.

The POREfessional: instant wipeout masks (eight super-cleaning pore face masks) €35
For those with exceptionally open pores and excess oily skin, these dual sided masks have been designed to clean and smooth out the look of pores around your nose, forehead and chin with their special textured fabric that helps exfoliate and remove pore impurities. The hero ingredient is mushroom extract, which is known to clarify pores.
Both will be available from all Benefit providers on Saturday, 30th January 2016.
