Corrector Pens: Not Just For Dispensing Tippex, Y'know...

We were chatting the other day about nail polish corrector pens, and how they're a total Godsend to the unsteady of hand in erasing any excess from cuticles and fingers and generally fixing manicure mistakes. More convenient than cotton buds - and less prone to shedding pesky loose fibres all over freshly painted nails - you can p-p-p-pick up a nail polish corrector pen to fit your budget handy enough, with brands from Essence to Essie all offering their own versions.

But did you know that you can also get corrector pens to sort out eye make-up mess ups? Very handy. Mavala, L'Oréal Paris, Estee Lauder, Shiseido and Revlon all make these clever little things, ideal for dealing with smudges or evening up wonky cat's eye flicks.

Like their nail varnish removing counterparts, they dispense a small amount of product onto the pen nib, just enough to do away with your make-up boo boos. One potential downside: your corrected mistakes will stay on the nib and eventually you'll be smearing them back on to your mush. Most of these pens do come with extra tips, but you can extend the life of yours by wiping it clean between uses.

To DIY, pinch the top of a cotton bud into a flat tip, then apply a small amount of make-up remover to one side and a small dot of your foundation or concealer to the other. Use a rolling motion to sweep away smudges and touch up in one foul swoop.

If you do decide to go down the shop-bought route, just be sure not to confuse your nail and eye make-up remover pens!
