You want more budget beauty, according to the feedback we got here, so this latest lot of beautienomical goodies from Catrice should be right up your alley. We aim to please!
The thing about Catrice, of course, is that it's not just affordable, it's also really rather good. And this little lot is no exception. Garden inspired, the colours are fresh and pretty, and the quality rivals brands at three and four times the price. Nice one.
The eyeshadow palette, Absolute Quattro in Mud Spencer & Coralle Hill (nope, no idea either), will set you back just €4.99 for a shimmery beige and warm brown, and two smaller satin finish shadows in dark brown and coral.
Ordinarily I'd have been a bit doubtful about the coral but I'm fresh from a makeup masterclass with Estée Lauder's Global Makeup Artist, Derek Miller. To open the eyes, he used a hot pink blusher on the inner half of the crease - it was really pretty, so I tried to replicate it here. If you're going to experiment, may as well do it with products that cost less than your busfare, right?

Also new are these lovely glossy polishes in Miss Piggy's BF and Meet Me At Coral Island - they're formulated to give a gel like effect and are super shiny on the nails.
You just can't fault these - I'm loving the shades, especially the bright coral pink, the consistency is great, the brush is nice and wide and the colours were fully opaque in two coats. Not bad for €2.99, huh?
I've always been a fan of Catrice's glosses and this one, Pink Up Your Life, is perfect for sunny weather - which is the only time I like a bit of shimmer on my lips. It's a lovely creamy corally pink with fine gold flecks - similar to NARS Orgasm, in fact, and just as flattering on Irish skintones. It's €3.49.
