This is kind of like from the ridiculous to the sublime: where Aisling was distinctly whelmed by NYC's Big Bold Mascara, I'm loving all over Bourjois' new Max Definition Mascara, €12.99, which you should be seeing on stands now. It's blummin' brill.
See, when a mascara is going to say things like BIG and BOLD or MAX DEFINITION, then I do sort of expect, under the'auld trades description act and that, that it will actually live up to its moniker. And not be some wimpy zero effect kind of thing.
This does: it's fattening, lengthening and va-va-vooming. My Yumi Lashes are long gone now (as expected, I got two months out of the lift and oh do I miss their curly ways) so I'm back to looking for lash batter ((c)) CherrySue) that's nicely dramatic. If you're not into that - and you might not be, reader Jikl pointed out on the NYC post that "I’ve discovered that the mascaras that get good reviews are the ones that I’ll hate – the ones that give big fat black fake looking lashes" - you won't love this.
The wand. Wand! *titter*

Me, I love volume and separation but detest clumps. I value non-flake and like length but it's not a deal breaker as I have fairly long lashes anyway. If it curls - great. This has a plastic wand that combs and applies well, goop that isn't too wet or too dry, its name sounds like a sexy spy - "why hellOOO Max Definition, mine is shaken and not stirred" - it gives some lift, it's a deadly black colour, has lots of embiggening - eight times more volume apparently, doesn't make lashes feel crunchy and you can layer on three coats without spiders legs of sticking-togetherness occurring.
I cannot appear to take a good shot of my eyes to save my life. Soz!
All good. I'm impressed. About the only thing that might cause a slight point of concern is that it's very big and pink. And so looks a little like a small vibrator in your handbag. If, you know, you were of a dirty turn of mind.
Which I clearly am.
