Our favourite lightweight foundations that let skin breathe - and are ideal for anyone who hates feeling like they're caked in makeup
Sometimes lightweight foundations are all you need to perk up your skin. And if there are any blemishes or dark circles to cover up, concealer can do the heavy lifting. Over the past few years, I've been moving further and further away from full, and even medium coverage foundations in favour of more sheer formulas. But sheer or lightweight doesn't have to mean useless (or shiny). There is a happy medium out there.
Here are three lightweight foundations that are ideal for day to day wear, and perfect for anyone who hates feeling like they're caked in makeup.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser SPF30/PA+++ €39
Your skin, but better - at least that's what NARS says. And I have to agree. As an all-rounder for day to day, this is an excellent base. A little goes a long way, skin feels comforted and hydrated (but not shiny) and it's available in 11 shades.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua SPF 15 €42
This is an absolute dream to wear, especially when paired with the Les Beiges face powder. Skin looks and feels like skin, and you forget you're wearing makeup almost immediately.

MAC Face and Body Foundation €32
It's not for everyone, but if this works on your skin then you'll probably never switch from it. The trick to getting a little more coverage and longevity from the formula is to apply it with your fingers. Gently blend in small circles until it changes consistency and then powder to set.
