Digital Retouching in the Fashion Industry

You might remember we had a post a few weeks ago about Dove's video which dramatically illustrates exactly what goes on in the world of digital re-touching? Well, The Sun has jumped on the bandwagon and there is an interesting article in their Woman section about it at the moment. They got one of their journalists to be their guinea pig, and the results after retouching are hilarious - she looks like yer average woman before, and Sarah Brightman after - all sort of surprised and pursed looking.

It really does bring it home to you when you can see side by side the before and after shots just how fake and plastic looking the touched up versions are, doesn't it? In fact, she looks almost cartooney.
