Beaut.ie on RTE's Things that went Boom in the Bust
This programme was originally shown on Stephens Day and I didn't know it was repeated on Monday until people told me they'd seen it. And I thought blast, I didn't get a chance to say it on Beaut.ie this time either. But sure I'll make up for it now wha'?
It's a real feel-good programme - a light-hearted look at ten things that have done surprisingly well in spite of the recession, and cosmetics are of course one of them.

Watch it on RTE Player if you are so minded. The Cosmetics part is 12 minutes in and I'm in Make Up For Ever having a good old rabbit about the Lipstick Indicator and why we love Benefit so much. Daithi O Se says some things about women being immune to recession (ho ho Daithi you're a scream), the lovely Mairead from Ray D'Arcy tells us why Irish women love to wear makeup and an Avon Lady goes to someone's house for a consultation. I found that part sadly unrealistic. Everyone knows that Avon Ladies just shove an unasked for catalogue through your door and then throw a knicker fit when you can't find it when they return a week later.
But everything else is true. Here's the link (it's available until July 25th)
