Subtle blue accessories for the bride who wants just a touch of tradition
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. It's one of the best known bridal traditions, but some women don't know what to do with it.
I certainly don't. I'm going for quite a minimalist look and fitting in those little touches may be more trouble than they're worth. For example, I would love to wear a pair of sleek, streamlined earrings or even a simple pair of pearl studs, but my engagement ring is antique, and I think those aesthetics would clash.
Representing the new will be my dress, old is, well, my face I guess, and I still don't know what I can possibly borrow. Then, there's the blue conundrum. (It - and the old part and the borrowed part - could have been easily solved if I hadn't lost my mother's sapphire engagement ring when I was five.)
Many brides opt for blue shoes, which can look great against a certain type of bridal look. And some brides want to hint at tradition while keeping with their personal vision. These little blue touches might just do just that.
