Fabulous Fashion for Rainy Days
Looking outside would make you sad wouldn't it? This never ending torrential rain, puddles three feet deep and long lines of abandoned umbrellas is enough to allow us to wonder when Noah is going to appear. Trudging to work is never fun in weather like this, to a point where I almost considered emigration to Tahiti today.
With this inclement state of affairs, how can we possibly dress, look chic and stay dry? Well I have a few tricks to help you along the way; especially for our feet!
First things first, we need to look at the practical stuff. Thanks to brands like Hunter Original, wellington boots have gotten all trendy. And, I must point out that they are not just for festivals. Wear a good pair of wellies on your morning commute and arrive at the office, with lovely dry cosy feet instead of balancing on one foot while you dry your tights under the hand dryer.
Alternatively, if you want something more dressy, the old reliable knee high boot is another great option. If you plan on wearing trousers, try a style with a skinny style leg to tuck into a boot to keep the ends of the soaking wet pavement (also works with an ankle boot).

Speaking of trousers, one of my pet hates is wet trousers. When the water hits you diagonally under your brollie and soaks your legs to the bone, to the point of numbness, you'll be sporting soggy jeans for the day. For casual wear, leather trousers are great. They keep the rain out and you can dry them with a towel (I have tested this today, and it works). A more chic alternative to full on wet gear!
Keep the top have dry, with a waterproof parka. Another great trait of the parka? It has a hood and it's long. No need for the flimsy umbrella. You're welcome.
Now, what are your rainproof tips? Sharing is caring! And does anyone have a spare pair of socks…..
