Melania Trump's first First Lady ensemble draws predictable Jackie O comments
Today, Donald Trump officially assumes office and becomes the 45th President of the United States if America. And his wife wore a powder blue suit.
I feel for Melania in some ways. When she got together with Donald almost twenty years ago and married him in 2005, she presumably assumed she could live her life as a lady who lunches, decorating Trump Tower and going to parties. Instead, she's FLOTUS, and suddenly the entire world is watching her, and waiting for her to do something stupid.
Melania quit social media some time ago because of its negativity, and one of her projects as First Lady is to tackle bullying, online and playground. A noble cause. So, I don't want to say anything mean about a person who has found herself in a position she probably would never have dreamed of as a little girl growing up in Slovenia.
I will point out the obvious, though; she's a stunning woman who can wear a dress very well. And a jumpsuit. And a swimsuit, but I'm not getting into that. Because of her model looks, people can't help but compare her - style wise - to Jackie O, and if they're going to say anything about her, it might as well be that.
Her Ralph Lauren inauguration outfit was a great - and pointed - choice. The powder blue shade is elegant, the designer is good old fashioned American, the style and length are dignified. You can't deny it, she looks incredible.
