Not just for Valentine's Day: 7 Little Red Dresses you'll wear all year
At any other time of the year, when in doubt, wear black. But Little Red Dresses are just as fail-safe, and perfect for February 14th of course
Red is the colour of SS18, so if you buy a gúna in the hue and wear it this Wednesday, you will definitely wear it again. It takes a small amount of confidence to pull off red - more, if you're going head to toe which is the real way to wear it this year - but the great thing about it is that once you have the red dress, you don't really have to worry about anything else.
Forego a necklace or earrings, if you want. Wear your hair back in a Megan Markle-inspired messy bun. The focus is the dress. So make it a good one.
Accessories and jewellery aren't a huge deal, but you will need to think about your shoes. Nude pumps or sandals are a good bet. But it depends on the dress - and the weather.

Red knot front Bardot bodycon midi dress €75
A simple pair of earrings and nude pumps and off you go.
Topshop
Wispy floral print midi skater dress €68
Topshop styles this with gold hoops, which really work, and green slingbacks, which I love but won't be for everyone. A pair of strappy gold sandals would look gorgeous.
Mango
Asymmetrical satin dress €59.95
Slip dresses are still in, but who wants to wear what's basically slinky nightwear when it's -1 outside? Fashion people have been saying to layer for quite some time now, and now's your opportunity to actually do it.
H&M
The little red dress in its purest form, this one is a throw-it-on-and-go-and-look-fab. See those nude pumps? I told you they'd come in handy.
Oasis
That print you see. It's hearts. Aw! But don't let you fool you into thinking it's a one-wear-per-year dress. The wrap style is totally dress up or down. Wear with white plimsolls and a straw hat in the summer.
Littlewoods Ireland
Myleene Klass Bow Shoulder Pencil Dress €90
It's a Valentine's Day dress you could possibly wear to work. 'Nuff said.
Zara
I've written about this dress before and will recommend again now because I believe in it. Long sleeves and short hemline is a winning combination.
