Five fabulous frills under €50 to suit every shape
Frills, ruffles, whatever you wish to call them, will be a familiar sight for this season. It's a small detail that can make a plain top look extra special, but I think it's a trend we might be afraid off. With my 32DD chest measurement, I certainly don't want to add to my already full bust with a huge frill down my front. So, I've found some pieces that embrace the look in a very wearable way for every body shape. And they are all under €50.
I think tops are the best option; they can be worn with plain bottoms and skirts to dress them up. Take a pair of black trousers for work and swap your collared shirt for a frilly front. I love this one from Dorothy Perkins that isn't too frilly, with a nice bow to finish it.

If you want to create shape on your bust, then look for a lower cut neckline with a layered ruffle to create some curve. These lovely tops from River Island and New Look are great examples of this. The New Look top continues the frill out to the shoulders if you are narrow here and need to balance with your lower half. I reckon this will be a cute look for warmer weather with some cropped light denims.
If you prefer something more subtle, stick to neutral colours like black and white; the beauty of this is that any top, even with the detail, will match pretty much any bottoms you have in your wardrobe. But as the frill is more of a statement, try and keep any trousers and skirts simple and avoid bright or complex prints that can take away from the simplicity a white blouse can have. This one from Littlewoods Ireland has a lovely shape, that's not too clingy.
For the more adventurous fashionista, you can merge a frill with a print to embrace the trend with aplomb. I've become a bit obsessed with this bird print blouse from H&M that has a diagonal frill right up to the shoulder. As with the blouse above, make this the centre of your outfit, and wear with jeans or cropped trousers. I think I may need to add this to my closet.
Do you think you will embrace the frill this season? Is it a practical trend? Or just a bit too flouncy?
