Dawn O'Porter Found Her Happy Place Outfit. What's Yours?
A couple of days ago, Dawn O'Porter posted a snap on Instagram of herself in the outfit she says she currently lives in. It's simple: a tank top, an 80s skirt that wouldn't look out of place in a Bingo Hall to be honest (but we like that) and flip flops. She looks great and she says she is "So happy in this."
I think that one of the simplest pleasures in life is to truly feel comfortable and happy in the clothes you are wearing. It helps when you look good in them too. Your happy place outfit doesn't have to be trendy, it doesn't have to be cool, it just has to be you.
It's boring but I love the simple skinny jeans and tee look - but not just any skinny jeans and tee. I've discovered that jeans that are cropped just above my ankle and a slouchy t-shirt tucked into the jeans waistband, teamed with a pair of heeled boots is a winning formula for me.

I only have one pair of jeans that fit the criteria and only two tees so it's not possible to don this combo every single day but when I do I feel good. I don't mind catching myself in a full length mirror and I can happily go from work to bar without changing a thing.
It reminds me of school, when in Transition Year I finally got to wear the senior uniform. The black jumper and black and white tarten skirt was so much better than the maroon sack, I mean, pinafore we had to wear up to third year. I loved that uniform! I perfected my skirt rolling technique so that it was just the right length for me (very short) and swapped the white shirt we were supposed to wear with a snappy wide collared version (the nuns never saw the difference!) and it's still in my wardrobe. I look at it sometimes, fondly.
What outfit do you love to wear? What's your go-to happy clothes? Did you have a nice uniform that you would have worn in the summer holidays if you could have?
