Best Dressed of the Year: The Human Statuette of January
Let's agree on one thing (because you may not agree with our Best Dressed choices. And that's ok) - 2016 wasn't the best year the world has ever had.
In December, we tend to look back and reflect on the year we lived, and this is a year many people would prefer to forget. We can't, however, dismiss the fact that 2016 wasn't all bad. It was great for some. Babies were born, people got promoted, couples for married, and rich, famous beautiful folk won awards. Normal people won awards too, but you don't want to see what I wore to collect my Employee of the Month trophy, do you? (You do? Check my Insta.)
If you could use a positive adjective for the year that Prince, Bowie and Cohen died and Trump was elected president, you could use the word stylish. For as bad as the year may have been, there were many fashion moments that people who like clothes and makeup (that's us!) appreciated.
So, for the next 12 days, we will take a look back at the celebs who made us smile this year with their stylists' stellar sartorial selections. It's a hard task, one celeb out of the whole month, but we're up to the challenge. And if you don't agree with us, let us know who you'd have chosen.
Without further ado, it's January's Best Dressed:
-
Brie Larson at the Golden Globes 2016

If anyone was dressed like a future Oscar winner, it's Brie (she won the Golden Globe this year, too.) Every year, at every awards ceremony, someone turns up looking like an actual statuette, but what makes Brie's ensemble so good is her attitude. That and her low-key hair and makeup and accessories. The cut-out, halter-style made it very of the moment, but it's also an instantly classic look that will stand the test of time.
Her Calvin Klein dress was minimalist with a sparkly twist, and in it, she exuded femininity and power. She told Ryan Seaquest, "I feel very protected like I have Joan of Arc armour on."
February was the month of the Oscars; could a winner also be the best dressed of the month? Find out tomorrow.
Do you agree with our January choice? Should it have been someone else at the Golden Globes? Or another event entirely?
