7 spring coats that will see you through till May
It may not be jacket season, but we're not in the depths of winter. These spring coats will keep you feeling warm and looking fresh.
The weather may still be cold but the days are stretching and the flowers are in bloom. We're edging towards jacket season, but there's still a gaping opportunity to wear a coat. At this time of year, though, we don't want to wear the winter coat we've been enshrined in since November. We want something a bit brighter, something that represents the mood in the air. It should also be something you can wear over your dress if you have a wedding to go to before May.
See the New Look bag that costs €25 but looks like it could be triple the price.
A trench coat is never a bad idea; wear it over a big jumper and with a big scarf and you're protected against the elements. But spring coats are a different story. They can be worn alone or with a light scarf so that you don't have to go through the hassle of peeling off a million layers. This season, Zara has grabbed onto the primary block colour trend and there's something in every colour. We like the neon green lapel coat for this particular season, though. You can wear it with everything and be the coolest person in the room every time.
H&M's double-breasted coat is another occasion pleaser and will become your daily companion to work. Our pick from River Island is, in fact, a trench coat, but it has qualities that make it perfect for this transitional time. See for yourself below.
